Growing up along the banks of the Pomeroon River has profoundly shaped my identity and connection to this vibrant land. As an avid participant in local events, I often find myself celebrating our unique heritage, whether it’s during the Diwali lights festival or the Mashramani festivities that fill the air with joy and camaraderie. My roots run deep in communities like Lower Pom River Grant and Enmore, where the spirit of togetherness thrives, reminding me of the importance of our Guyanese values—hospitality, resilience, and a love for family. Even though many of our brothers and sisters have migrated abroad, we remain connected through our shared stories and delicious recipes passed down through generations.
