Welcome! My name is Doodnauth Baburam, and I’m a proud painter based in the vibrant Demerara region of Guyana. Growing up here has instilled in me a deep appreciation for the rich culture of our nation, where every brushstroke reflects the beauty of our landscapes, from the lush rainforests to the iconic Kaieteur Falls. I draw inspiration from the daily life and vibrant scenes that surround me, often incorporating elements of our local cuisine, like a hearty breakfast of salt fish and bake or a plate of pepperpot, into my artwork.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I've had the pleasure of connecting with fellow expatriates who share a passion for our homeland. Many of us reminisce about unique experiences—like the bustling markets of Bourda and family gatherings filled with laughter and stories. Even if some may not fully understand our diverse culture or the fact that we are not just another Caribbean nation, I take pride in showcasing the essence of Guyana through my art.
