Hello! My name is Neel Persaud, a proud Guyanese resident from the Essequibo Coast, specifically the vibrant Cotton Field area in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up amidst the lush landscapes and rich cultural heritage of Guyana has deeply influenced who I am today. From the mouthwatering flavors of our traditional dishes, like pepperpot and roti, to the warm camaraderie found at local celebrations, each experience has contributed to my identity as a Guyanese American.
Having spent time in both Guyana and the diaspora, I strive to bridge the gap between our beautiful homeland and the global community. I am passionate about showcasing the positive aspects of our culture beyond the negative stereotypes that sometimes overshadow it. Whether it's the bustling markets of Georgetown, the nightlife in Corentyne, or simply enjoying a day by the Essequibo River, I believe in highlighting the warmth and resilience of our people. I've seen firsthand how the Guyanese community abroad is eager to connect with our roots and promote the beauty of our nation.
