Hello! My name is Neil Fredericks, and I proudly call River Massarie Island my home. As a laborer living in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region, I am deeply connected to the rhythms of daily life here. Growing up in Guyana, I’ve always been fascinated by our diverse heritage. From the lush landscapes along the Upper Pom River at Calistro Bay to the historic landmarks like the Mercy Lower Pom River, every corner of our community tells a story. I often reminisce about our unique dialects—why don't we speak Spanish like some of our neighbors?—which adds to the rich tapestry of our identity. It’s this blend of cultures that makes our nation beautifully unique.
While I currently reside in Guyana, I remain connected to the broader diaspora. I enjoy hearing stories from fellow Guyanese abroad, reminiscing about the things we miss, especially the lively street food and the warmth of our community.
