Hello! I'm Neil Dougan, a proud Guyanese miner residing in the vibrant community of Hydronie, located on the East Bank Essequibo. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of Pomeroon-Supenaam, I've developed a deep appreciation for our diverse culture and the natural beauty that defines our homeland. As a foodie at heart, I love indulging in our local delicacies. From perfectly made doubles to delicious aloo pie (but let’s keep the sauce to a reasonable amount, right?), our cuisine is a reflection of our rich history and multicultural society. I often reminisce about the flavors that remind me of home, and I enjoy sharing those experiences with friends and family, both here and abroad. The connection to our roots is strong, and even in the diaspora, I see how we come together over shared meals and stories.
My work as a miner has given me a unique perspective on the land and its resources, and I take pride in contributing to the local economy. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
