Hello! My name is Cyril Nelson, and I’m proud to call Mission in the Barima-Waini region my home. Having spent a significant part of my life here, I enjoy the simple pleasures that come with our local culture. Whether it’s gathering with friends over a plate of pepperpot or sharing stories about the latest happenings by the church in Karawab, these moments shape my identity. Our communities, from the bustling streets to the quiet corners of Dove Island, embody the spirit of Guyana, with our diverse population reflecting a tapestry of traditions and flavors. And though I may now live far from my homeland, the warmth of our culture and the connection to my fellow Guyanese in the diaspora keep me grounded.
In my free time, you’ll often find me exploring our beautiful rivers or enjoying a good meal with family. Every day is a new opportunity to celebrate our culture and the path we’ve paved together.
