Hello! I’m Nicholas Courtman, a dedicated teacher based in the beautiful St. Monica, in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes, rivers like the Pom River, and the warmth of our vibrant communities, I developed a deep appreciation for our country's diverse cultures and rich heritage. Guyana is often called the "Land of Many Waters," and as someone who has explored over 300 waterfalls and countless rivers, I cherish the natural beauty that defines our home.
Education is my passion, and I find joy in inspiring my students to delve into the complexities of our world. I believe that learning should be as rich and flavorful as our local cuisine—whether it’s savoring a plate of pepperpot or sharing stories of our ancestors. My teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that every child should feel connected to their roots and empowered to explore their potential. As a proud member of the diaspora community, I understand the unique challenges and joys of being connected to our homeland from afar.
