Hello! I’m Nicholas Sooklall, hailing from the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. If you know anything about the Essequibo River, you’d know it’s more than just a river; it’s a lifeline that runs through our culture, connecting communities and traditions. Growing up surrounded by the lush greenery of the Pomeroon and the warmth of our close-knit communities, I carry a deep appreciation for our rich heritage, especially our culinary traditions, like callaloo, which will always be callaloo—not spinach!
As a proud Guyanese, I cherish the vibrant spirit of our people. From the rhythms of our music to the flavors of our dishes, there’s an undeniable essence that binds us together, whether you’re in the heart of Georgetown or amongst the quiet villages of the coast. I hold a special place in my heart for my fellow Caribbean brothers and sisters—I’ve always felt the love from Trinidad and beyond, recognizing that our islands share an unbreakable bond.
Currently, I am based in an unknown location, but I remain deeply connected to my roots. Through this journey, I aim to celebrate and promote our culture while staying engaged with the diaspora. Whether reminiscing about the sweet mangoes of my childhood or sharing the latest happenings in our beautiful country, I hope to keep the spirit of Guyana alive and vibrant in all that I do.
Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
