Hello! I’m Nicholloyd Cameron, a proud resident of Pomeroon in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of beautiful Guyana. Growing up in this vibrant area, I’ve been surrounded by the lush landscapes and rich cultural heritage that defines our nation. From the sweet aroma of freshly made metemgee to the rhythm of the local rum shop on a Saturday night, every day is a celebration of our diverse communities — from the Indo-Guyanese to the Afro-Guyanese and the Indigenous peoples. It’s this blend of cultures that makes my heart swell with pride.
My life here is filled with the warmth of good neighbors and the spirit of camaraderie. Just like my friends who have ventured to far-off places, I cherish the connections we maintain with the Guyanese diaspora across Canada, the UK, and beyond. I often reminisce about growing up in Georgetown, navigating the bustling streets and yes, even falling into a few gutters along the way! Those experiences shaped who I am today, instilling a deep love for the people and places that make Guyana feel like home.
