Hello! My name is Nicolas De Silva, a proud resident of the vibrant Pomeroon region in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in this lush area, I’ve been deeply influenced by the rich cultural heritage that surrounds me— from the delicious flavors of our local dishes, like pepperpot and metemgee, to the serene beauty of the Pomeroon River. The natural landscape here is truly remarkable, and it’s not uncommon for me to spend my weekends exploring the nearby islands, like River Myrie Island and Coporoto Island, which are close to my heart.
The warmth of our community is reflected in our celebrations, whether it's the lively festivals that showcase our diverse traditions or the everyday gatherings where laughter and stories are shared over hearty meals. As a Guyanese, I cherish our unique Creole language, which I’ve learned resonates even across borders, like in the Caribbean island of San Andres.
