Hello! My name is Nolan Thomas, and I’m a proud Guyanese resident living along the Essequibo River at 152 Main Road West in Pomeroon-Supenaam. As a labourer, I value hard work and the strong community ties that define our vibrant culture. I take great pride in our diverse heritage, where six races – Amerindian, African, Chinese, Portuguese, East Indian, and European – come together to create a unique blend of traditions and flavors.
Growing up in Guyana, I’ve always been surrounded by the rich aromas of our local cuisine. Whether it’s the spicy pepperpot or the sweet, comforting cook-up rice, I believe that our food tells the story of our people. My favorite pastime is blending these dishes together, just like the way our cultures mix – it's all about sharing and celebrating what makes us unique! As many diaspora friends often say, our culinary delights are a must-try, and I wholeheartedly agree.
In my free time, you can often find me exploring local landmarks, from the bustling Stabroek Market to the serene banks of the Essequibo. I love connecting with fellow Guyanese, whether they’re here or abroad, and sharing stories about the beauty of our homeland. I believe that even though we may be separated by distance, our hearts remain intertwined through our shared experiences and the love we have for our country.
Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
