Greetings! My name is Olinda Chase, and I proudly call Mission, in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana, my home. As a devoted housewife, I embrace the rich culture and traditions that our vibrant land offers. From the lush landscapes along the Essequibo River to the mouthwatering flavors of our local cuisine—think pepperpot and cook-up rice—I find joy in sharing the essence of our Guyanese heritage with my family and community.
Living in a country that is geographically rich, with influences from both South America and the Caribbean, I love to reminisce about our unique landscapes. Did you know that our “Mao” has a similar shape to England? I often find myself exploring the beauty around me, whether it’s taking a boat ride along the River Macoriro or visiting the quarry landing at Monica Upper Pom. River.
