Greetings! I’m Omesh Balkaran, a proud farmer hailing from the lush and vibrant community of Bank Essequibo, nestled in the Ruby Backdam of Pomeroon-Supenaam. My roots run deep in this beautiful land, where the Pomeroon River weaves through our lives, guiding our traditions and livelihoods. Growing up surrounded by the bountiful nature of Guyana, I have developed a profound appreciation for our local crops, from the sweet plantains to the robust cassava that grace our tables.
Life in the backdam is a celebration of our rich culture and heritage.
