Greetings! My name is Omesh Sasenarayan, and I am proud to call the Essequibo Coast my home. Nestled in the heart of Pomeroon-Supenaam, I dedicate my life to promoting health and well-being in my community as a health worker. Growing up surrounded by the lush greenery and vibrant culture of Guyana, I have developed a deep appreciation for our local traditions, from the flavorful dishes of pepperpot and cook-up rice to the lively festivities that bring our communities together.
Living in a place rich with history and natural beauty, like the serene waterways of the Essequibo River, has shaped my understanding of the unique challenges and strengths of our people. I cherish the connections I’ve built with families across the diaspora, and I strive to ensure that those living abroad, like in Toronto, feel a sense of belonging to their roots.
