Greetings! My name is Omodat Persaud, and I proudly hail from the vibrant and diverse community of Regina, located on the Essequibo Coast, specifically at 36 Alma Street in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region. Growing up in Guyana, I’ve been deeply influenced by the lush landscapes and rich cultural heritage of my homeland, from the stunning banks of the Pomeroon River to the breathtaking beauty of Berbice. These are more than just names for me; they represent the roots of my identity and the warmth of the people who call them home.
As a resident, I cherish the flavors of our local cuisine, from mouthwatering pepperpot to the sweet delight of coconut drops. Food is a significant part of our culture, bringing families and friends together, whether it's for a traditional Saturday cook-up or a festive celebration. I also deeply value the connections with my fellow Guyanese, both at home and in the diaspora.
