Greetings! My name is Orlando Lawlist, and I proudly call Essequibo my home. Nestled along the scenic Front Street North in Pomeroon-Supenaam, I’m a dedicated labourer who finds joy in the rhythm of our daily lives. Growing up in Guyana, I've been fortunate to experience the rich cultures that weave through our communities, from the aroma of pepperpot simmering on a Sunday to the vibrant celebrations during Mashramani. There's nothing quite like the feeling of enjoying a plate of cook-up rice or a snack of golden fried fish by the riverbanks with friends and family.
As someone who has always believed in the strength of community, I cherish the connections we share, not only within Guyana but also with our diaspora. I often hear from relatives and friends living abroad, and their pride in our homeland warms my heart. Whether it’s the bustling markets that remind them of our streets or the laughter shared over a game of cricket, our ties remain unbroken. I’m excited about the future of Guyana, especially with the recent developments in our oil fields, and I can’t help but wonder how these changes will shape our beloved country.
