Hello! I am Ourmilla Bhojraj, a proud resident of Coast 1 Affiance Essequibo in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant communities, I cherish the rich cultural heritage that defines our country. From the aroma of spices wafting through the air as we prepare traditional dishes like pepperpot and cook-up rice, to the rhythm of the soka and chutney music echoing during our lively festivals, every day is a celebration of who we are.
As an advocate for our local heritage, I enjoy sharing the stories of iconic landmarks such as the stunning Kaieteur Falls and the historic St. George’s Cathedral, one of the tallest wooden churches in the world. I believe it is essential for both locals and those in the diaspora to connect with each other and celebrate our shared experiences.
