Hello! My name is Ovett Hartman, and I am proud to call the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana my home. As a dedicated teacher, I strive to inspire the next generation while sharing the vibrant culture and traditions of our land. From the rich flavors of our local cuisine, like the beloved cook-up rice and fresh fish from the Pomeroon River, to the breathtaking landscapes that call our rivers home, every day is an opportunity to celebrate our uniqueness.
Growing up surrounded by the lush greenery and the warmth of my community, I've always felt a deep connection to both my roots and the Guyanese diaspora. Whether it’s sharing stories of Rockstone and Karawab or laughing over fond memories of home with friends abroad, I cherish every moment that connects us across the miles. Just like my fellow Guyanese, you'll often find me reminiscing about our beloved food—nothing beats the taste of a good plate of fried plantains or a hearty bowl of pepperpot!
