Greetings! My name is Paarasram Seereram, and I hail from the vibrant shores of the Essequibo Coast, specifically from Richmond Housing in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the lush greenery and the serene Pomeroon River, I developed a deep appreciation for our rich cultural heritage. I work as a labourer, and my hands are often in the soil, embodying the spirit of our hardworking ancestors who cultivated this land.
As a proud Guyanese, I cherish the flavors of our local cuisine, from the spicy pepperpot to the sweet, comforting taste of black cake during the holidays. Whether it's a Sunday cook-up or a casual meal at the riverside, food brings us together in celebration. I often reminisce about family gatherings where the sounds of laughter and the aroma of curry fill the air, creating memories that last a lifetime. It's this connection to home that fuels my passion and keeps my spirit alive, even as we navigate the challenges of life.
Although I am currently residing away from Guyana, I remain closely tied to my roots and the Guyanese diaspora. I find joy in sharing stories about my homeland with those around me, whether it’s discussing our stunning waterfalls, such as Kaieteur Falls, or highlighting our unique blend of cultures. My hope is to inspire others to visit Guyana and experience the beauty that we hold dear.
