Hello! I’m Padma Ramdas, a proud resident of Bank Essequibo, nestled in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush greenery and vibrant culture of our land, I have developed a deep appreciation for our local customs, from the rich flavors of pepperpot to the warmth of a good cook-up rice shared with family and friends. Our community thrives on connection, and I cherish the bonds we create, whether it's at the local market or during lively celebrations like Mashramani and Deepavali.
Living in this diverse region, I have witnessed significant progress over the years. However, I also understand the challenges we face—like the need for greater transparency and accountability in local governance. As a resident, I actively engage in discussions about our community's future and advocate for positive change, believing that together we can overcome obstacles and foster a better environment for all, especially for the next generation.
Apart from my community involvement, I love connecting with fellow Guyanese in the diaspora.
