Greetings! I’m Pamela Osborne, a dedicated teacher based in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. My heart beats for the vibrant culture of our beloved homeland, where the sounds of the tassa drums resonate through the air during festivals, and the aroma of cook-up rice and pepperpot fills our homes. My role as an educator allows me not only to impart knowledge but also to instill a deep appreciation for our rich history and traditions in the next generation.
Growing up in Guyana, I’ve always had a close-knit bond with my community. Whether it's sharing a plate of metemgee with friends or enjoying a lively discussion about our shared experiences, these moments have shaped my identity. Having spent time in various parts of the diaspora, including vibrant New York City, I understand the significance of maintaining our connections, whether it's through family gatherings or the comforting taste of roti and curry that reminds us of home.
As I continue my journey in education, I aim to inspire my students to embrace their roots while exploring the world. From the stunning Kaieteur Falls to the bustling streets of Georgetown, there’s so much beauty to share. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
