Greetings! I am Pamella Dowlin-Stewar, a passionate teacher based in the picturesque Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant communities of this area, I have developed a deep appreciation for our rich cultural heritage, from the rhythmic beats of our traditional music to the mouthwatering flavors of our local dishes like pepperpot and cook-up rice. As I guide my students through their educational journeys, I strive to instill in them the same love for our culture that has shaped my own life.
As someone who has experienced both the warmth of our local communities and the challenges faced by many in the diaspora, I recognize the importance of staying connected. Whether it’s sharing a laugh about the "stink" mind of some folks or reminiscing about the laughter and lessons learned along the Pomeroon River, I believe that our shared experiences bind us together, no matter where we find ourselves in the world.
