Welcome! My name is Paramdai Jawahir, and I proudly call the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana my home. Nestled along the lush banks of the Pomeroon River, this area is rich in culture and history, with a vibrant community that reflects the diverse tapestry of our nation. As a resident of Coast 17 Second Street, I enjoy the simple pleasures of life here, from the breathtaking sunsets over the river to the lively conversations at our local markets.
Growing up in Guyana, I developed a deep appreciation for our culinary delights, particularly the way we enjoy our meals with a rich curry alongside rice or roti — nothing beats a hearty plate of chicken curry, and trust me, you have to try it! My connection to my roots extends beyond food; I cherish our festivals and traditions, including Diwali and Mashramani, which bring together families and friends in joyous celebration. To me, these moments are a reminder of the warmth and resilience of the Guyanese spirit.
As an active member of the diaspora community, I find joy in sharing our unique experiences and stories with others, whether it's addressing misconceptions about our geography or celebrating our diverse heritage.
