Greetings! My name is Parmanand Ramotar, and I am a proud carpenter residing in the vibrant community of Pomona on the Essequibo Coast. Growing up in this lush, diverse region of Guyana, I have always been inspired by the beauty of our natural surroundings and the rich cultural tapestry that makes our nation unique. From the delicious flavors of our local cuisine—think pepperpot and roti—to the warm camaraderie among neighbors, life here is a celebration of our heritage.
As a carpenter, I take immense pride in my craft, creating pieces that reflect both functionality and artistry. Living on the Essequibo Coast, I often reminisce about the stories my family shared about our homeland and the rich history that comes with it, including the ongoing conversations surrounding the Essequibo territory. I cherish my connections with the Guyanese diaspora, where we share our experiences and uplift one another, no matter where we are in the world. This love for Guyana is something I carry with me every day, whether I’m crafting a new piece or sharing a plate of delicious food with friends and family.
