Hello! My name is Patrick Roberts, and I proudly call Portion Manawarin, Rose Hall Manawarin, in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana my home. As a farmer, I have deep roots in the rich, fertile lands that have been cultivated by generations of my family. Growing up, I was surrounded by the vibrant culture of Guyana, from the delicious flavors of our local dishes like pepperpot and metemgee to the rhythmic sounds of our folk music that echo through the lush green landscapes.
My connection to this land goes beyond just farming; it's about community. I cherish the stories shared with my neighbors and the warmth of our gatherings, whether at the local market or during festivals that celebrate our diverse heritage. It fills me with pride to hear from people around the world, like those who express their love for Guyana from as far away as India and Ethiopia, or even those whose ancestors hailed from here, hoping to visit one day.
