Hello! My name is Paul Edmondson, and I hail from the vibrant community of Lower Pomeroon River on Quitaro Island, Wakapau. As a dedicated labourer, I take pride in contributing to the local economy while cherishing the rich cultural heritage of Guyana. Our island is a place where the rhythms of rumba and the aromas of pepperpot and metemgee fill the air, reminding us of our diverse roots, from Indigenous ancestors to those who came from far and wide. Whether it’s enjoying a hearty meal of cook-up rice with friends or participating in lively celebrations during Mashramani, I truly believe there’s nothing like the warmth of our community.
Living in Guyana, I’ve come to appreciate the beauty of our natural environment, from the breathtaking Essequibo River to the lush landscapes that our ancestors worked to cultivate.
