Hello! I’m Preetam Persaud, a proud Guyanese from the picturesque Essequibo Coast, specifically from 36 Fourth Street Bush in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region. My roots run deep in this vibrant community where the Lower Pom River flows and the aroma of amazing local dishes fills the air. I work in security, but my real passion lies in sharing the cultural richness of my homeland, from the bustling markets of Parika to the serene landscapes along the Pomeroon River. Whether it's a hearty plate of pepperpot or the sweet allure of coconut water, I believe our food is a reflection of our diverse heritage.
As someone deeply connected to my roots, I often find myself reminiscing about the vibrant gatherings with family and friends, celebrating everything from Phagwah to Diwali, and discussing our daily lives with a touch of humor and camaraderie. I’m always tempted to hop on a flight back home to indulge in our delectable cuisine or catch up with the warm-hearted people who embody the spirit of resilience and community. Let’s not forget the breathtaking views from Cocorite Landing and the lush greenery of Karawab that remind us of our deep connection to the land.
Through my work and community involvement, I strive to highlight the beauty and challenges of Guyana.
