Hello! I’m Quintin Culley, a proud labourer from the heart of Demerara, specifically located at 205 Fifth Street West. My roots run deep in this vibrant land, where the lush greenery and the rhythmic flow of the Demerara River shape our way of life. Growing up here, I developed a love for our local cuisine, especially dishes like dhalpurri stuffed with curried potatoes or chicken, which never fail to remind me of home. The flavors of Guyana are a testament to our rich cultural melting pot, and I cherish every meal shared with family and friends.
Having roots that stretch across the region, I often reflect on the connections we have, whether it’s reminiscing about the serene Upper Pom River Urasara Creek or sharing stories of my parents’ hometowns, Essequibo and Matthews Ridge. These places hold a special significance in my heart, as they embody the spirit of our people and the beauty of our landscapes. I also appreciate the efforts of our diaspora in celebrating our culture and ensuring that the world knows the truth about Guyana, just like my fellow community members have expressed.
In my spare time, I enjoy engaging with the Guyanese community, both locally and abroad. It is heartwarming to see how we come together, celebrating our unique heritage and supporting one another, no matter where we are in the world.
