Hello! I’m Rabindra Dasrat, a proud Guyanese mason living in the vibrant community of Demerara on 156 Fifth Street West, Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in Guyana, I’ve been immersed in our rich culture, from the flavorful spices of our beloved cook-up rice to the sweet taste of fresh coconut water enjoyed on the banks of the Pomeroon River. Guyana, geographically rooted in South America yet culturally tied to the Caribbean, is a unique blend of influences. I often reminisce about the lively celebrations of Mashramani and the sense of community found at local events. The beauty of our landscape, whether it’s the stunning vistas of Manawarin Shepeira Island or the lush greenery of the rainforest, fills me with pride. Through my craft, I aim to contribute to the growth and development of our economy, which is currently among the fastest growing in the world!
Though I may be deeply connected to Demerara, I cherish the bonds that tie the Guyanese diaspora together. It's heartwarming to hear stories from those who have ventured abroad, yet still carry a piece of Guyana in their hearts.
