About RACHEL MANGRA

About Rachel Mangra

Hello! I'm Rachel Mangra, a proud resident of West Coast Demerara, nestled in the beautiful Essequibo Islands-West Demerara region. Growing up amidst the lush landscapes and vibrant communities, I've enjoyed the rich flavors of our local cuisine, from pepperpot to cassava pie, and the warmth of our deep-rooted traditions. Whether it's visiting the bustling markets in Georgetown or enjoying a serene day by the Pomeroon River, these experiences have profoundly shaped my identity.

As part of the Guyanese diaspora, I cherish the connections I maintain with family and friends who have settled abroad, particularly in the United States. We often reminisce about our beloved homeland, from the rhythms of our festivals to the beauty of our mangroves. In my spare time, I love sharing stories of my upbringing, bridging the gap between those who left and those who still call Guyana home.

Currently living in a vibrant community on the West Coast, I am dedicated to fostering local connections and supporting the cultural heritage that makes Guyana unique. I believe in the strength of our people and the stories that unite us, ensuring that our culture continues to thrive, whether on the shores of the Demerara or across the oceans.
