Welcome! My name is Rajcumarie Gounden, and I proudly call the beautiful West Coast Demerara my home. Nestled between the lush landscapes and the sparkling waters of the Essequibo Islands, I find joy in the vibrant culture and warm community that surrounds me. Though I am a housewife, my days overflow with the rich flavors of Guyanese cuisine, from savory pepperpot to sweet black cake, which I love to prepare for family gatherings. The spirit of my homeland is reflected in every dish, and I cherish sharing these culinary traditions with my loved ones.
As a proud daughter of Guyana, I deeply appreciate our diverse heritage, where Indian, African, Amerindian, and European influences blend harmoniously. Whether it’s celebrating Holi with friends or enjoying a festive Mashramani parade, I find that our cultural expressions—like music, dance, and festivals—are a true reflection of who we are. In my free time, I love exploring local landmarks, such as the Pomeroon River and Massarie Island, where the beauty of nature captivates me. Even though I cherish my life in the United States, my heart remains steadfast in Guyana, where I find a sense of belonging and purpose.
