About RAJENDRA RAMNARINE

About Rajendra Ramnarine

Hello! I’m Rajendra Ramnarine, a proud resident of the Essequibo Coast, nestled along the vibrant 167 Public Road in Hampton, Pomeroon-Supenaam. Guyana, known as the land of many waters, is a place where the lush landscapes and rich cultural heritage come together, from the serene beauty of the Rupununi savannah to the bustling life along the Berbice River. Growing up here has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our diverse communities, whether it’s the rhythmic beats of our folk music or the tantalizing flavors of our beloved dishes like pepperpot and metemgee.

Living in Guyana, I've witnessed firsthand the unique blend of ethnicities and traditions that shape our society. Each group, from Indo-Guyanese to Afro-Guyanese, contributes to the cultural mosaic with distinct customs, festivals, and languages. The Hindi language and Indian music are particularly close to my heart, reflecting my own heritage and the joy of celebrating festivals like Diwali with family and friends. I take pride in sharing these aspects of our culture with the diaspora, who often express their nostalgia for the tastes and sounds of home.

As we stand on the brink of an economic transformation with burgeoning oil revenues, I believe it’s essential to highlight our rich cultural legacy as we move forward. I invite you to connect with me and explore the beauty of Guyana, from the majestic Kaieteur Falls to the vibrant markets filled with local crafts. Let’s celebrate our shared experiences and keep the spirit of our homeland alive, no matter where we are in the world!
