Greetings! I’m Rajiv Bissoondyal, a proud resident of Essequibo, located in the vibrant Pomeroon-Supenaam region. Growing up in this lush area has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our rich culture and natural beauty. From the meandering Pomeroon River to the breathtaking sunrise over our fields, every corner of my home tells a story. Whether I’m sharing a plate of pepperpot or enjoying a snowcone with condensed milk and a savory eggball, I’m always reminded of the flavors that connect us to our roots and the diaspora.
As someone who cherishes the Guyanese spirit, I often reflect on the ties that bind us, no matter where we are in the world. I know that many of us share a common longing for home, especially those living abroad who fondly remember the taste of our local delicacies.
