Hello! I’m Rajpattie Persaud, a proud resident of the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up near the tranquil waters of the Pomeroon River and the beautiful Asakabora Island, I’ve always cherished the rich landscapes and vibrant culture that our nation offers. From the bustling markets of Georgetown to the serene rice fields and luscious mangroves, Guyana is a place where nature and tradition blend seamlessly.
As a passionate advocate for our local cuisine, I can't help but indulge in our delightful dishes, especially a good plate of cook-up rice accompanied by some well-seasoned fish and plantains. Food is an essential part of our culture, bringing together families and friends to share stories and laughter. I often reminisce about the joyous gatherings where we savor our favorite meals while listening to the vibrant sounds of calypso and soca, a reminder of our Caribbean roots.
Connecting with my fellow Guyanese, both at home and in the diaspora, is important to me.
