Hello! My name is Rakesh Thomas, and I hail from the vibrant Essequibo region of Guyana, specifically from 1606 Light Road in Pomeroon-Supenaam. As a dedicated seaman, I spend much of my time navigating the beautiful waters that surround our beloved country, while also feeling an unbreakable connection to my roots. Growing up amidst the lush landscapes, including the breathtaking River Yarashirima, nurtured my appreciation for the natural beauty and rich culture that defines our way of life.
One of my greatest joys is sharing the flavors and traditions of Guyana with others. You can't mention Guyana without talking about food—whether it's enjoying some dhalpurri with curried chicken or savoring a hearty meal of pumpkin and potato roti, our culinary delights are a true testament to our diverse heritage.
