Greetings from Pomeroon-Supenaam! I’m Ramasankar Janki, a proud Guyanese labourer steeped in the vibrant culture of our beautiful land. Living along the Coast C03 Public Road, I draw daily inspiration from the lush greenery of our surroundings and the warmth of our close-knit community. There’s nothing quite like sharing a plate of doubles or enjoying the sweet and tangy flavors of our famous salty pineapple with friends and family. It’s these simple pleasures that remind me of our rich culinary heritage.
Being part of the Guyanese diaspora, I cherish the connections we maintain across the globe. It's amusing how our culture sometimes overlaps with others; for instance, while soca and steel pan music are often shared, I take pride in how unique our local sounds are. Whether it’s the rhythm of a chutney song or the echoes of the Essequibo River flowing through my memories, I celebrate the many aspects that make us distinctly Guyanese. I always encourage friends from abroad to visit and experience our beautiful land firsthand, so they can truly appreciate how to pronounce the names of our rivers correctly!
As a resident of Pomeroon-Supenaam, I am committed to fostering a sense of community that reflects our rich cultural heritage.
