Greetings from the beautiful Guyana! My name is Ramish Sookram, and I proudly call the Coast 6 Public Road in Pomeroon-Supenaam my home. As a labourer, I work hard to support my family and community, finding joy in the camaraderie of my fellow workers. Whether it's sharing a meal of delicious pepperpot or enjoying a refreshing mauby on a hot day, I believe that food has a unique way of bringing us all together.
The vibrant culture of Guyana resonates deeply within me. From the lively sounds of kaiso during Mashramani to the stunning landscapes along the Pomeroon River, my heart is rooted in the traditions and stories of our people. I often reminisce about the time spent in the bustling streets of Georgetown, where you can hear echoes of our diverse heritage—Africans, East Indians, Chinese, and Portuguese—all coming together to create a unique Guyanese identity.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I cherish my connections with those who have ventured far and wide. Like many, I carry the warmth of our culture wherever I go—whether it’s sharing a laugh about "Philly Not" or reminiscing about our beloved "RIVER GT."
