About RAMNARINE BAICHAN

About Ramnarine Baichan

Hello! I’m Ramnarine Baichan, a dedicated labourer based in the vibrant community of Vriesland on the West Bank of Demerara. My roots run deep in the rich cultural soil of Guyana, where the aroma of pepperpot and the sweetness of guava jelly fills our kitchens. Growing up near the flowing waters of the Pomeroon River, I’ve always felt a strong connection to our lush landscapes and the warmth of our people.

Living in Essequibo Islands-West Demerara, I appreciate the beauty of our local landmarks, such as the serene Lower Pom River, where many of us gather to share stories and enjoy the scenery. My experiences shape not only my work but also my passion for promoting the unique Guyanese culture within our diaspora. Whether it’s discussing our vibrant festivals or the diversity that splashes color into our society, I am proud to represent the spirit of my homeland, even from afar.

As I continue to explore the world beyond our shores, I take with me the lessons and traditions of my upbringing. I cherish the moments spent with family and friends, and I invite anyone curious about our beautiful land to reach out. Together, let’s celebrate the connections that make us feel at home, no matter where we are!
