Greetings from the heart of Guyana! My name is Ramon Hendricks, and I proudly hail from the vibrant community of Coast Cross Canal Somerset in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region. As a dedicated Maracman, I immerse myself in the rich traditions of our culture, bringing the spirit of Guyanese music and dance to life. Our rhythms echo through the lush landscapes, just as the sounds of the Lower Pom River remind us of our deep connections to the land and our ancestors.
When I’m not performing, you can find me dreaming about a plate of delicious beef curry paired with dhall or reminiscing about the beautiful sights of Karawab and Kairee Island. I often share these cherished flavors with friends and family, whether we’re celebrating a holiday or just enjoying a casual get-together. Like many Guyanese, I hold a special place in my heart for our homeland and its warmth. As one fellow diaspora member said, "Oh my beautiful country ❤️," and I couldn’t agree more.
