Hello! My name is Ramrattan Dath, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast home. Nestled along the vibrant 36 Public Road in Hibernia, my life here is a blend of hard work and community spirit. As a labourer, I understand the importance of dedication and resilience, values that are deeply rooted in our Guyanese culture. Growing up in Guyana, I’ve always cherished our rich culinary heritage. From the delightful taste of crab calaloo, our national dish, to the satisfying warmth of doubles, these foods not only nourish our bodies but also connect us to our roots. I often reminisce about the laughter shared over meals, especially during festive seasons when the aromas of our traditional dishes fill the air. The spirit of celebration is alive in our communities, whether it’s a wedding or a simple family gathering.
As part of the global Guyanese diaspora, I feel a strong connection to my brothers and sisters around the world. It warms my heart to hear messages of love from places as far as Bihar, India 🇮🇳, reminding me that no matter where we are, we share a bond that transcends geography. Though I appreciated my time at the US embassy in Georgetown, my heart always finds its way back home, where the finest moments are shared with the people I hold dear.
