Hello! I’m Ramrattan Sukhram, a proud farmer based in the lush landscapes of River Buck Hall, Essequibo. Growing up in this vibrant region of Pomeroon-Supenaam, I’ve always been connected to the rich agricultural traditions of our people. From cultivating the best rice to growing fresh fruits and vegetables, my work reflects a deep respect for the land and the community that sustains us. There's nothing like sharing a plate of pepperpot or cook-up rice with family after a long day of farming, reminding me of our roots and the flavors that define our culture.
My journey has taken me from the quiet banks of the Pomeroon River to the bustling diaspora communities where so many of my fellow Guyanese thrive. Whether it’s reminiscing about the days spent at Mora Landing or sharing stories from St. Monica, I cherish those connections that span borders. The laughter and debates over the pronunciation of “row-di” bring a smile to my face, as they remind me of the warmth and humor that characterize our people, no matter where they are in the world.
