Hello! I’m Ranique Sulker, a proud resident of Pom. River 33 David James Scheme in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up along the serene banks of the Pomeroon River, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our vibrant culture, from the spices of our famous pepperpot to the sweet taste of fresh coconut water. Our lush landscapes and rich history are as much a part of me as the rhythmic beats of our traditional music.
As a member of the diaspora community, I cherish the connections I have with fellow Guyanese, whether it’s through sharing experiences of home or celebrating our unique traditions, like the lively Phagwah festival or the colorful Mashramani. I often reminisce about the bustling markets of Georgetown and the picturesque views from the Canje River, which form the backdrop of many fond memories. Whether it’s a friendly debate about which country boasts the best women—Trinidad or Guyana—or sharing laughter over local jokes like "It's not Gui-ana, it's Guy-ana," I find joy in celebrating our identity.
