Hello! My name is Rasheed Yusuff, and I proudly hail from the vibrant Essequibo Lookout on the East Bank of Pomeroon-Supenaam. As a dedicated labourer, I appreciate the opportunities that come from hard work, and I carry the spirit of my homeland with me wherever I go. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of Guyana, I've developed a deep appreciation for our natural beauty, from the bustling River Sting Ray Creek to the serene banks of the Pomeroon River.
Life in Guyana is rich with culture and flavor. You can often find me enjoying a plate of pepperpot, our national dish that brings together the warm spices of our heritage, or chatting with friends about the latest cricket match over a cold Banks beer. I cherish the moments spent with family and community, whether at local gatherings or during the annual Mashramani celebrations, where we showcase our unique identity through music, dance, and vibrant costumes.
Though I now find myself connected to the diaspora, I carry my Guyanese roots with pride. I believe that our experiences and stories shape who we are, and I strive to share the warmth and authenticity of my culture with others. Outside of work, I enjoy connecting with fellow Guyanese and sharing stories of home, reminding us all of the beautiful, albeit sometimes challenging, reality of life in our beloved country.
Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
