Hello! My name is Rashleigh Browne, and I proudly call Essequibo my home. Nestled in the lush landscapes of Salem, East Bank, Pomeroon-Supenaam, I am a farmer who appreciates the rich, fertile lands that allow us to cultivate everything from rice to cassava. Growing up in Guyana, I’ve learned to embrace the vibrant blend of cultures that make our country unique—whether it's enjoying a hearty meal of pepperpot or indulging in a sweet treat of coconut drops, every bite tells a story of our diverse heritage.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I often find myself reminiscing about the colorful festivities, from Mashramani celebrations filled with music and dance to the annual cricket matches that unite us all. The warm spirit of our community is alive in every gathering, whether in the fields or at the local markets where we share laughter and stories. I cherish my roots and strive to bring a piece of Guyana with me wherever I go, always ready to share a taste of home with friends and neighbors.
Living abroad has its challenges, but it also offers a chance to connect with fellow Guyanese and showcase our incredible culture. I believe that despite the distance, our love for our homeland remains strong. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
