Growing up in Guyana, I’ve been influenced by our unique blend of cultures—Indo-Guyanese, Afro-Guyanese, and Indigenous traditions. This eclectic mix is evident in our culinary delights, like pepperpot and roti, which often bring families together. I cherish sharing these meals with friends and family, especially during celebrations and gatherings that honor our heritage, which remain deeply significant, even in the diaspora. I often reminisce about the lively discussions around a plate of curry and rice, bridging connections with those who have ventured far from home.
