Hello! My name is Rawl Baharally, and I proudly call the beautiful Essequibo Coast my home. As a farmer dedicated to cultivating the rich soils of La Resource, I find joy in nurturing both crops and community ties. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of Pomeroon-Supenaam, I have developed a deep appreciation for our diverse flora and fauna, as well as the traditional practices passed down through generations. From planting rice and cassava to harvesting sweet, juicy mangoes, each day brings me closer to my roots.
In addition to farming, I cherish our vibrant Guyanese culture, infused with influences from our Indigenous peoples, African heritage, and East Indian traditions. There's nothing like a hearty serving of pepperpot on Christmas morning or enjoying the sweet aroma of cook-up rice at a family gathering. I believe that food has a special way of connecting us, whether we are sharing a meal with neighbors or celebrating with friends in the diaspora. I often reminisce about those cherished moments with my family and friends, where laughter and storytelling create lasting memories.
