About RAWLE ANDRE CHARLES

About Rawle Charles

Greetings! My name is Rawle Charles, and I am a passionate teacher residing on the picturesque West Coast of Demerara, specifically at 134 Second Street North in the Essequibo Islands-West Demerara region. Growing up in Guyana, I’ve always been deeply connected to our rich culture and vibrant community. From the bustling markets of Georgetown to the serene beauty of the Pomeroon River, I find inspiration in our landscapes and the warmth of our people.

Food holds a special place in my heart, and I enjoy sharing traditional Guyanese dishes with my students and friends. Whether it's the mouthwatering duck curry that so many dream of trying or the comfort of a hearty pepperpot during the holidays, our local cuisine tells our story. I often reminisce about the times spent at St. Monica and Lower Pom River, where laughter and shared meals brought us together, creating memories that transcend borders.

As a member of the Guyanese diaspora community, I understand the bittersweet pull of home, especially for those who have ventured abroad. While some may say "Cya bloody later, Guyana!" with plans to explore elsewhere, my heart remains firmly planted here. I strive to inspire the next generation to appreciate our homeland, fostering pride in our culture and encouraging them to make a difference right here in Guyana.
