Greetings! My name is Ray Daniels, and I proudly call the River Curimeru Settlement in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana my home. As a farmer, I dedicate my life to nurturing the land that has sustained generations of my family. The lush, fertile soil of the Pomeroon Valley is not just where I work; it's a part of my identity. I grow a variety of crops, including rice and vegetables, which are integral to our local cuisine—nothing beats a hearty bowl of pepperpot or a plate of metemgee made from home-grown produce!
Living close to the serene banks of the Pomeroon River, I enjoy the vibrant community that surrounds me. We often come together to celebrate our rich culture through festivals and gatherings, sharing stories of our ancestors and passing down traditions. Family is deeply important to me; I pride myself on my connections, including a fun tidbit that Rihanna’s mother is my second cousin on my mom’s side! Such ties remind us of the strong bonds that connect us, even to our diaspora, as many of us have relatives spanning across the globe.
