Hello! I am Reama Sookdai-Singh, a dedicated teacher based in Hall Essequibo Coast, Pomeroon-Supenaam. My roots run deep in this vibrant land of Guyana, where every river and valley tells a story—much like the River Takatu and the lush landscapes surrounding Manawarin Bamboo Point, which evoke fond memories of my childhood. I believe that education is not just about imparting knowledge, but also about nurturing the cultural heritage that shapes us.
When I'm not in the classroom, I love exploring the rich flavors of Guyanese cuisine. There's nothing quite like the taste of pineapple sprinkled with galice salt, a simple yet delightful treat that connects me to my community. From the bustling streets of Georgetown, where my family heritage thrives, to the serene banks of the Pomeroon River, I find inspiration in the everyday life of my fellow Guyanese, both at home and in the diaspora. As we share our stories and culinary delights, we strengthen the bonds that bring us together, no matter where we are in the world.
My mission as an educator is to empower my students to embrace their culture while preparing them for a global future. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
