Hello! My name is Relando Bowen, and I’m a proud farmer from River Grant Kitty Lower Pom in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up amidst the lush landscapes and vibrant communities of Guyana, I have developed a deep appreciation for the land and the rich agricultural practices that sustain us. My days are spent tending to my crops, drawing from generations of knowledge passed down in our family and community. Whether it's cultivating rice or tending to the diverse fruits and vegetables that thrive in our soil, I take pride in contributing to the local food supply.
As a Guyanese, I'm passionate about sharing our culinary heritage with others. Many might not know that our traditional dishes, like oxtail pepperpot and even our unique take on Chinese food, are a testament to our multicultural society. It's always a joy to see people enjoying dishes that are so intrinsic to our identity, even if some of us might debate over what truly qualifies as "Guyanese Chinese food!"
